Position Summary
The Grain Merchandiser will play a key role in the procurement, sales, and logistics of agricultural commodities, with a focus on pulses. This position involves managing trade activities, optimizing supply chain logistics, and driving profitability while ensuring operational efficiency and risk management. The trader will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to meet strategic objectives and maintain high standards of quality.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute buy and sell transactions for agricultural commodities as a profit center.
  • Analyze domestic and global market trends to identify trading and arbitrage opportunities.
  • Coordinate logistics and shipments with facility managers, trading partners, and clients.
  • Develop and implement procurement and processing strategies based on market demands.
  • Forecast transportation requirements and manage related risk positions.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal departments, suppliers, and customers.
  • Build and expand client relationships across domestic and international markets.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to support company goals.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in commodity trading, preferably in domestic and/or Latin American markets.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish preferred

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for engaging with clients via phone, email, or digital platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
