About the Company We are a growing and well-established steel fabrication company specializing in structural and miscellaneous metals for commercial and industrial projects. With a strong backlog and continued growth, we are seeking a Financial Controller to lead our accounting operations and help drive strategic financial decisions.
Position Overview The Financial Controller will oversee all accounting functions, financial reporting, and internal controls. This individual will play a key role in supporting leadership with financial insights while ensuring accuracy and efficiency across project-based accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting operations including AP/AR, payroll, and general ledger
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Manage job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting for fabrication projects
Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
Ensure compliance with GAAP and all regulatory requirements
Implement and improve internal controls, processes, and reporting systems
Partner with executive leadership to support strategic planning and decision-making
Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and banking partners
Qualifications
5+ years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in construction or steel fabrication
Strong understanding of job costing and project-based accounting
Experience with accounting software such as Viewpoint Vista, Foundations, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required)
Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $125,000 – $150,000
Performance-based bonus
