We are representing a national commercial finance platform seeking an experienced VP–Business Development Officer to expand its SBA and Commercial Real Estate lending portfolio. About the Role
In this position, you will originate, structure, and close SBA 7(a), SBA 504, owner-occupied CRE, investor CRE, construction, and bridge loans. You will develop and grow referral networks, partner with underwriting and closing teams to drive efficient deal flow, and represent the platform at industry events, conferences, and partner meetings. This is an ideal opportunity for a self-sourced hunter who wants national reach and the freedom to build a meaningful book of business.

Key Responsibilities
• Source, structure, and originate SBA & CRE loans that meet credit standards
• Conduct initial deal qualification and prepare high-quality credit submissions
• Build and manage a healthy, self-sourced pipeline; meet quarterly and annual goals
• Cultivate relationships with brokers, developers, CDCs, CPAs, and other COIs
• Develop lending partnerships with credit unions and community banks
• Stay current on CRE, SBA, and market trends to advise clients effectively
• Attend conferences, trade events, and site visits (25%–50% travel)
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth funding processes
• Contribute insights to product enhancements and market strategy

What We’re Looking For
• 5+ years in SBA origination, CRE lending, or business banking
• Proven track record of successful, self-sourced production
• Strong understanding of SBA 7(a), SBA 504, and CRE financing structures
• Ability to interpret financials and identify risks in early qualification
• Established referral network and strong relationship-building ability
• High energy, proactive style, and comfort operating independently
• Excellent communication skills and professional presence
• Ability to balance multiple deals in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with CRM systems; HubSpot experience a plus
• Willingness to travel regularly for partner development and market coverage

Compensation
Base salary $115,000–$135,000 DOE, plus a performance-driven commission structure that rewards strong, self-sourced SBA & CRE production. Top performers in similar roles commonly earn significant six-figure commission income based on funded volume. Total earnings vary by individual results.
