We are actively seeking a talented CAD Operator to support a growing portfolio of construction projects. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in CAD and BIM who are passionate about leveraging technology to support the full construction lifecycle—from preconstruction through project execution. The right candidate will play a key role in developing accurate drawings, coordinating models, and supporting project teams with high-quality technical deliverables. Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with project management and field teams to support project execution
- Develop 2D installation and detail drawings from 3D models or conceptual sketches
- Create electrical floor plans, elevations, and one-line riser diagrams
- Build and coordinate 3D models with internal teams, engineers, manufacturers, and BIM subcontractors
- Perform site surveys and integrate field data into models and drawings
- Generate spool drawings and coordinate with prefabrication efforts
- Perform quantity take-offs from 3D models
- Participate in weekly project meetings, providing BIM updates, progress tracking, and coordination support
- Work with BIM leadership to support strategy and execution across multiple projects
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in the electrical construction industry
- Proficiency in CAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
- Experience with Revit and Navisworks preferred
- Familiarity with tools such as Leica, Matterport, or Trimble is a plus
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, including equipment clearances and code requirements
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards to ensure compliance in modeling and design
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform work with minimal supervision
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in drafting or a related field
- CAD certification
- Experience supporting prefabrication and model-based construction workflows
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $75K – $95K (Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors)
