President-in-Training (Vice President)

Position Overview

This role is designed for a high-potential banking leader who will work closely with the President & CEO and assume the role of President upon planned CEO succession

Key Responsibilities 

Prepare for future transition into the President role through structured exposure to:

    • Lending production, portfolio management, and credit quality

    • Accounting, financial reporting, and bank financial performance

    • Risk management and regulatory awareness

  • Assist with strategic planning, budgeting, and performance monitoring

  • Participate in loan structuring, credit decisions, and portfolio oversight

  • Partner with department leaders to drive operational efficiency and accountability

  • Represent the bank with customers, community leaders, and key stakeholders

  • Uphold and promote the bank’s culture, values, and community-focused mission


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 5+ years of banking experience, ideally within a community bank setting

  • Practical experience in lending and credit, with a solid understanding of bank accounting and financials

  • Demonstrated leadership ability with clear potential to step into a President role

  • Strong decision-making skills, integrity, and sound judgment

  • Relationship-driven mindset with a commitment to long-term community banking
