Paralegal/Legal Secretary – Hybrid Role

Location: Orlando

Position Type: Full-Time | Hybrid Role (Paralegal & Secretarial Duties)

We are seeking an experienced paralegal to join our team in a hybrid paralegal/legal secretary role. This position offers the opportunity to work on bad faith, medical malpractice (med mal), and personal injury cases while handling both paralegal responsibilities and secretarial duties. The ideal candidate will have at least 3+ years of experience in bad faith, med mal, and personal injury litigation, preferably on the plaintiff side and know litigation from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform paralegal duties, including legal research, drafting pleadings, discovery responses, and trial preparation for bad faith, med mal, and personal injury cases.
  • Assist with court filings, case management, and attorney support throughout litigation.
  • Handle secretarial tasks, including scheduling, correspondence, and document organization.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to facilitate case progress.
  • Maintain case files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with legal procedures.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a paralegal handling bad faith, med mal, and personal injury litigation (plaintiff-side preferred).
  • Stable work history – must have spent at least 3+ years at the last two jobs.
  • Strong legal drafting, research, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance paralegal and secretarial duties effectively.
  • Excellent communication and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working with more than 2 attorneys at one time
  • Knowledge of efiling
