Mid Level Litigation Attorney – Civil Litigation Defense

A respected San Diego law firm is seeking a skilled Mid-Level Litigation Attorney to join its civil defense team. The firm handles a wide range of matters including general liability, insurance defense, employment law, and other complex litigation cases. This is a great opportunity for an experienced litigator to take on meaningful case responsibilities in a collaborative and professional environment.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will have at least five years of experience in civil litigation, preferably with a background in insurance defense, general liability, and/or employment law. The role involves independently managing cases from start to finish, with support from a seasoned legal team and opportunities for continued career growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle a diverse caseload of civil litigation defense matters
Conduct all aspects of case management including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance representatives
Attend court hearings, mediations, and depositions as necessary
Collaborate with partners and junior attorneys to develop litigation strategy
Requirements:
Active license to practice law in California
5+ years of experience in civil litigation defense
Strong background in general liability, insurance defense, or employment law preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle cases with autonomy and exercise sound legal judgment
