Install Manager – HVAC/R (Commercial & Industrial)


A well-established and growing mechanical contractor is seeking an Install Manager to lead and standardize commercial HVAC/R installation operations across multiple large-scale projects.

This is a department-level leadership role, focused on field execution, workforce development, safety, and overall installation performance — not day-to-day project management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee installation operations across all projects, ensuring consistent execution and quality standards
  • Establish and enforce best practices, installation methods, and sequencing across jobs
  • Lead, mentor, and develop field teams including foremen, installers, and apprentices
  • Monitor labor productivity, manpower planning, and department performance metrics
  • Support Project Managers with staffing, constructability, and field-related challenges
  • Drive safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards
  • Implement training, workforce development, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of commercial HVAC/R installation experience
  • Proven leadership experience managing field teams and developing talent
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, and installation best practices
  • Ability to analyze productivity and improve operational performance
  • OSHA 30 and EPA 608 certification required
  • Relevant state licensing preferred (or equivalent)
