We are seeking an Experienced Personal Injury Legal Assistant with a background in litigation to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting attorneys in all phases of personal injury litigation — from case inception through trial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file legal documents including complaints, motions, discovery, subpoenas, and trial exhibits.
- Draft and proofread correspondence, pleadings, and settlement documents.
- Maintain and organize case files, discovery, and medical records.
- Coordinate depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
- Monitor court deadlines, manage attorney calendars, and schedule client meetings.
- Communicate with clients, court personnel, medical providers, and opposing counsel.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a legal assistant in a personal injury litigation setting (plaintiff-side strongly preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Illinois civil litigation procedures and court filing systems.
- Proficiency in legal software such as Microsoft Office, Needles, Clio, or similar case management systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Absolutely must have Personal Injury Litigation experience.
