Heavy Equipment Shop Foreman Responsibilities:
- As a Heavy Equipment Shop Foreman, you will be responsible for leading a team of mechanics and technicians to ensure that our Excavating equipment is maintained and repaired in a safe and efficient manner(Scrapers, Skid Steers, Loaders, Backhoe, Bulldozers, Trenchers, Excavators, Diesel Trucks)
- Shop Operations & Management:
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Monitor and maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations
- Oversee daily maintenance and repair activities for company equipment
- Personnel Management:
- Supervise, train, and evaluate mechanics, technicians, and support staff to ensure they possess the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively
- Schedule work shifts and assignments to meet business needs
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching for skill development
- Fleet Maintenance & Compliance:
- Oversight of inspections, diagnostics, and repairs of equipment ensures that all vehicles are road-ready and compliant with regulations
- Maintain accurate service records and schedules for all fleet vehicles( Scrapers, Skid Steers, Loaders, Backhoe, Bulldozers, Trenchers, Excavators, Diesel Trucks)
- Work with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary parts and services
- Financial & Inventory Management:
- Monitor shop expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
- Manage parts inventory and ensure cost-effective purchasing
- Approve vendor invoices and track repair costs
- Customer Service & Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, fleet managers, and external vendors
- Address driver concerns and ensure timely repairs to minimize downtime
- Communicate shop performance metrics to senior management
