Fabrication Estimator
A custom manufacturing team is seeking a skilled Fabrication Estimator to support quoting efforts for metalworking and fabrication projects. This role is essential in analyzing project requirements, preparing detailed cost estimates, and ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review blueprints, and specifications to determine project scope
- Collaborate with sales and customers to clarify technical and commercial requirements
- Estimate material, labor, and overhead costs for custom fabrication jobs
- Use ERP software and Excel to prepare and submit accurate quotes
- Communicate with internal teams to align on pricing, capacity, and lead times
- Review supplier quotes and negotiate pricing for outsourced services or materials
- Maintain thorough records of estimates and project assumptions
- Occasionally travel to meet with customers or suppliers as needed
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field or job shop experience
- Experience in welding, metal fabrication, and manufacturing environments
- Comfortable in a low-volume, job-shop setting
- Proficient in Excel and familiar with ERP systems (Epicor a plus)
- Strong math, technical drawing interpretation, and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and communication abilities
