We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Structural Engineer with 8+ years of experience in transportation infrastructure design, including bridges, highways, rail structures, and more. 🛠 Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you’ll be trusted to lead multidisciplinary structural projects and guide teams through design, development, and execution phases, delivering innovative and resilient solutions for transportation systems.

  • Lead and manage structural design efforts for transportation infrastructure projects, including bridges, retaining walls, foundations, culverts, and more

  • Serve as Senior Project Engineer and the primary client liaison, actively participating in planning meetings, design reviews, public presentations, and stakeholder engagement

  • Oversee the preparation and review of engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports to ensure compliance with client expectations and regulatory standards

  • Respond to RFIs, review construction submittals, and conduct field inspections to ensure construction aligns with design intent and quality standards

  • Support budget development, cost estimating, and scoping during project initiation and contribute to strategic planning and marketing efforts

  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring for junior engineers, fostering professional development and building a high-performing team

  • Ensure all designs meet AASHTO standards, DOT requirements, and local/state codes for safety, sustainability, and constructability

  • Utilize industry-standard software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, and structural analysis tools) to deliver high-quality engineering documents efficiently and accurately


✔ Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (focus in transportation or bridge design preferred)

  • 8+ years of structural engineering experience in the transportation infrastructure space

  • PE license (Professional Engineer) required; must be licensed in Nebraska, Iowa, or South Dakota or able to obtain promptly

  • Deep understanding of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, DOT standards, and transportation agency procedures

  • Prior experience designing bridges or transportation structures in Nebraska, Iowa, or South Dakota is highly valued

  • Advanced proficiency with structural modeling and design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, and/or other relevant platforms)

  • Strong project management capabilities, communication skills, and client service orientation

  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and mentor junior engineering staff
