Project Manager – AISC Certified Steel Fabrication
We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee steel fabrication projects from award to delivery in a fast-paced, AISC-certified fabrication environment. This role requires strong leadership, coordination, and technical knowledge to ensure high-quality structural products are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage one large or multiple small fabrication projects from kickoff to completion
Serve as primary liaison between internal departments (drafting, cutting, fabrication) and the client
Review project specifications and ensure all production meets quality and contractual standards
Coordinate daily priorities with drafting, fabrication, project teams, and client stakeholders
Track and manage project schedules, budgets, material ordering, manhour projections, and labor costs
Lead work plan development and gain alignment from internal management
Identify and negotiate change orders with clients
Oversee job setup in project management systems including SharePoint and fabrication software
Maintain up-to-date reporting on labor hours, costs, cash flow, and financials
Communicate with client inspectors, testing services, and internal QC regarding specs, NCRs, and RFIs
Participate in safety reporting and assist with root cause analysis when necessary
Lead coordination meetings and provide regular project updates to both internal teams and clients
Foster a collaborative, professional, and accountable project team culture
Qualifications:
Previous project management experience in an AISC-certified steel fabrication environment
Knowledge of welding processes, CNC machinery, and steel fabrication workflows
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with software such as PowerFab, Viewpoint, Tekla Structures, or Primavera P6 is preferred
Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams
High school diploma required; additional professional or technical education preferred
