Job Description

We are looking to identify a Litigation Attorney (5+ Years) to support our client’s growing and active litigation practice in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator to work on complex civil litigation matters, including federal court work, while collaborating closely with firm leadership and advancing toward long-term growth within the practice.


Position: Litigation Attorney (5+ Years)

About the Role

This role involves handling a diverse litigation caseload, including insurance defense and commercial litigation matters, with significant exposure to federal court proceedings. The attorney will work directly with senior leadership and play a key role in managing cases from inception through resolution.


Responsibilities

  • Handle litigation matters from case inception through trial preparation and trial
  • Manage an active caseload, including federal court litigation
  • Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and legal briefs
  • Conduct discovery, depositions, and case strategy development
  • Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and hearings
  • Work closely with partners and litigation leadership on case strategy

Practice Areas

  • Insurance defense (including municipal and public entity representation)
  • Civil rights and Section 1983 matters
  • General liability litigation
  • Commercial litigation across a variety of industries

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of litigation experience
  • Experience handling federal court matters
  • Background in insurance defense and/or civil litigation
  • Strong experience with motions, depositions, and trial preparation
  • Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters independently
  • Licensed in Pennsylvania and in good standing

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $125,000 – $135,000 + bonus opportunities
  • Profit sharing + 401(k) (eligibility after one year)
