Overview:

We are seeking a talented Corporate Associate Attorney with 5–8 years of experience to join a growing Cannabis Law Practice Group. This role focuses on corporate law, commercial transactions, and contract work for clients operating within the cannabis industry. The ideal candidate will bring strong transactional experience, exceptional drafting and negotiation skills, and a keen interest in the evolving cannabis regulatory landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent cannabis industry clients in a wide range of business transactions, including entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financing arrangements, and commercial agreements.

  • Draft and negotiate contracts, operating agreements, shareholder agreements, and other corporate governance documents.

  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessments related to cannabis-related business transactions.

  • Monitor and stay current on federal, state, and local cannabis laws and regulations affecting clients.

  • Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups and external industry professionals to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in corporate law, commercial transactions, and contract drafting/negotiation.

  • Experience in cannabis law or a strong interest in working within the cannabis industry.

  • Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and analytical abilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and business acumen.

  • Preferred: Experience serving as lead attorney on multiple corporate transactions, particularly business transactions involving cannabis companies.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

  • Strong academic credentials.

  • Excellent technical, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys in other practice areas to provide integrated client solutions.

Work Environment & Benefits

  • Hybrid schedule with 2 days remote work per week.

  • Competitive salary range ($145,000 – $215,000) depending on experience.
