Manufacturing Engineer II
About the Role: Responsible for all technical support of the processes used to manufacture cable and harness products.
Be a creative and proactive contributor to the management team. At all times drives continuous improvement through process development, root cause analysis and systematic problem solving, and metrics. Is responsible for all engineering activities on each account and is the interface for internal/external customers.
Key Responsibilities

Is responsible for all engineering activities on each account and is the interface for internal/external customers.
Develops programs for production equipment.
Providing all required information to the senior design engineer/integrator to develop the cable block diagram in the TDP.
Assign cable numbers to every cable and maintain configuration management of the cables.
Creates and maintains routing, bill of material, drawings, detailed assembly and inspection instructions and visual aids as required to process order.
Creates tooling and fixturing to facilitate production.
Interpret customer and technical specifications, drawings, engineering instructions and fabrications and communicate requirements to the factory.
Analyzes current processes and implements process improvements to reduce costs and/or increase quality.
Evaluates scope of project and determines production labor and material requirements.
Develop and document operating procedures and work instructions with the focus on continued productivity and quality.
Acts as liaison and technical advisor between our program manager, customer and/or internal departments regarding: technical problems, coordinating schedule changes, material availability.
Reviews engineering packages for signoff.
Reviews, approves and/or develops specifications for purchases for fixtures.
Incorporates customer's change notices into manufacturing document.
Reviews request for quotation ensuring information is accurate and timely - statement of work, quantity, special instructions.
Evaluates the estimated cost vs. the actual cost of past production orders and corrects routing times and BOM's to reflect data accurately.
Ownership of accounts to ensure 100% quality and optimum yields.
Create, provide and/or review Design for Manufacturing support/documentation at all stages of product design cycle and assembly (i.e. Pre and Post DFMs).
Required Qualifications
Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, no less than 6 years' experience in the electronics and/or electro mechanical field, preferably in contract manufacturing.
Complete understanding of drawings, parts lists, specifications and engineering change notices.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
