Senior Superintendent – Heavy Earthwork & Utilities

We are seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead field operations for large-scale heavy civil projects with a focus on earthwork and underground utilities (storm, water, sewer). This individual will play a critical role in driving project execution, safety, and team performance across commercial, residential, and federal/government projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all field operations for heavy earthwork and underground utility installation
• Manage site superintendents, foremen, crews, and subcontractors
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget
• Coordinate daily with project management, engineering, and ownership teams
• Lead planning and sequencing of mass grading, excavation, and utility installation
• Enforce safety standards and maintain compliance with OSHA and project-specific requirements
• Monitor productivity, quality control, and site logistics
• Conduct regular site meetings and provide progress reporting

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a strong focus on earthwork and underground utilities
• Proven track record managing commercial, residential, and/or federal/government projects
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Deep understanding of site development, grading, and utility installation practices
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules
• Experience working with project management and scheduling software is a plus
