Job Title: Project Engineer – Heavy Civil Construction
Position Overview
We are seeking a Project Engineer to support heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role will work closely with project managers and field teams to assist with project coordination, documentation, scheduling, and overall project execution.
The ideal candidate will have 1–5 years of experience in heavy civil construction with exposure to earthwork, bridge work, concrete, and/or utility projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project managers and superintendents with daily project coordination
- Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Track project schedules, quantities, and production progress
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and material deliveries
- Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and project reporting
- Review plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Attend project meetings and communicate with owners, engineers, and field personnel
- Help ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications
- Support project closeout and final documentation efforts
Qualifications
- 1–5 years of experience in heavy civil construction
- Exposure to earthwork, bridge work, concrete, and/or utility projects preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a heavy civil construction environment
