Project Manager – AISC Certified Steel Fabrication

We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee steel fabrication projects from award to delivery in a fast-paced, AISC-certified fabrication environment. This role requires strong leadership, coordination, and technical knowledge to ensure high-quality structural products are delivered on time and within budget.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage one large or multiple small fabrication projects from kickoff to completion

  • Serve as primary liaison between internal departments (drafting, cutting, fabrication) and the client

  • Review project specifications and ensure all production meets quality and contractual standards

  • Coordinate daily priorities with drafting, fabrication, project teams, and client stakeholders

  • Track and manage project schedules, budgets, material ordering, manhour projections, and labor costs

  • Lead work plan development and gain alignment from internal management

  • Identify and negotiate change orders with clients

  • Oversee job setup in project management systems including SharePoint and fabrication software

  • Maintain up-to-date reporting on labor hours, costs, cash flow, and financials

  • Communicate with client inspectors, testing services, and internal QC regarding specs, NCRs, and RFIs

  • Participate in safety reporting and assist with root cause analysis when necessary

  • Lead coordination meetings and provide regular project updates to both internal teams and clients

  • Foster a collaborative, professional, and accountable project team culture


Qualifications:

  • Previous project management experience in an AISC-certified steel fabrication environment

  • Knowledge of welding processes, CNC machinery, and steel fabrication workflows

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Familiarity with software such as PowerFab, Viewpoint, Tekla Structures, or Primavera P6 is preferred

  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams

  • High school diploma required; additional professional or technical education preferred
