Associate Attorney – Toxic Tort (Asbestos / Silica)

Are you a litigation attorney looking to build your career in toxic tort defense with a highly respected and growing litigation practice? Our client is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2–6 years from California Bar admission to handle sophisticated toxic tort matters involving asbestos, silica, and other complex product liability and toxic exposure claims.
This is an outstanding opportunity to work alongside experienced litigators on high-profile matters while receiving exceptional mentorship and hands-on litigation experience. Prior toxic tort experience is not required—the firm welcomes attorneys with overall defense litigation experience who are eager to learn and develop a long-term practice in this specialized area.
What You'll Do
Manage toxic tort litigation matters from inception through resolution
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
Conduct and defend depositions
Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, hearings, and trials
Develop case strategy with senior attorneys
Handle written discovery and document review
Work closely with experts and assist with expert discovery
Communicate regularly with clients and insurance carriers
Negotiate favorable resolutions when appropriate
Maintain compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements
Qualifications
J.D. and active California Bar admission
2–6 years from California Bar admission
Defense litigation experience required
Prior toxic tort experience is not required
Interest in developing a practice focused on asbestos, silica, and toxic tort litigation
Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills
Excellent organizational and case management abilities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
