Instrumentation & Controls Technician

Manufacturing & Industrial Environment

A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Technician to support plant operations through hands-on troubleshooting, maintenance, calibration, and repair of instrumentation and automation systems. This is a field-based role focused on reliability and uptime of production processes.


Position Overview

This is a hands-on role working directly on the plant floor supporting instrumentation, PLC systems, and automated production equipment. This is not a desk-based programming position.


Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and maintain instrumentation and control systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Work with PLC-controlled equipment and automated systems
  • Support Allen-Bradley PLC systems (preferred experience)
  • Work with AutomationDirect systems, HMIs, and touchscreens
  • Calibrate and maintain instrumentation including:
    • 4–20 mA pressure transmitters
    • Level transmitters and process instrumentation
  • Diagnose and resolve control system issues to reduce downtime
  • Perform preventive maintenance on instrumentation systems
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of instrumentation/control systems experience in an industrial environment
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC systems preferred
  • Familiarity with AutomationDirect systems and HMIs
  • Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and control loops
  • Ability to read electrical/instrumentation schematics
  • Strong field troubleshooting mindset

Compensation & Schedule

  • $40 – $45 per hour
  • Day shift (Monday–Friday)
  • Full-time, stable manufacturing environment
