Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager with a strong background in precision gear manufacturing to lead the quality function within a highly engineered, tight-tolerance production environment. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing quality systems, inspection operations, continuous improvement initiatives, and customer quality performance.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the Quality Department including inspectors and quality technicians
• Oversee in-process and final inspection activities for precision gear manufacturing
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards, customer specifications, and internal quality objectives
• Interpret and apply AGMA standards across manufacturing and inspection processes
• Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and structured root cause analysis initiatives
• Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on reducing scrap, improving process capability, and increasing operational efficiency
• Manage calibration systems and inspection equipment maintenance programs
• Interface directly with customers regarding audits, corrective actions, and quality performance
• Partner with Engineering and Production teams on process improvements and new product launches
• Monitor and improve key quality metrics including PPM, scrap, rework, and delivery-related quality impacts

What We’re Looking For:
• 5+ years of quality leadership experience within gear manufacturing environments
• Strong experience with gear inspection methods and equipment including CMMs, gear analyzers, lead/profile measurement, and runout testing
• Working knowledge of AGMA standards and precision gear tolerances
• Experience supporting hobbing, grinding, shaping, heat treat, and finishing operations preferred
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
• Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems (AS9100 experience is a plus)
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
• Effective leadership and communication skills in a production-driven environment

Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
• Experience in high-precision, tight-tolerance manufacturing environments
• Customer-facing quality leadership experience
