Job Description

A well respected Mechanical Company is currently seeking a Project Scheduler! This is your chance to become a part of this dynamic team and work towards the mutual success of the project, the company, your co-workers, and yourself.

The Project Scheduler is responsible for the development and implementation of schedules for electrical construction projects while collaborating with Project Management and the FieldLeadership Team to ensure that projects are completed according to contract and project performance goals.

Responsibilities of a Project Manager/Scheduler :

  • Reviews contractual requirements, to ensure that all essential labor and non-labor elements are captured in the development of the schedule. (Including material, travel, and subcontractor costs)
  • Create, update, and maintain the electrical construction schedule.
  • Works directly with Project stakeholders and customers to develop and maintain direct budgets.
  • Create work breakdown structures with project stakeholders
  • Utilizes various planning tools for schedule development including Gantt and Critical Path Method (CPM)network schedules.
  • Review critical path, cost loading, and schedule content.
  • Identify relationships, constraints, and milestones with the project work schedule.
  • Perform schedule impact analysis for change orders.
  • Develops and present schedule review documents/data to management and customers as required.
  • Keep detailed and current records of all project work including but not limited to drawings, correspondence, and schedules maintain and update drawings and all project files
  • The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing and other duties will be assigned based on the position’s role within the business unit.
  • Maintain all required software licenses required to complete work
  • Keep current with new software as becomes available to replace, supplement, and enhance existing software programs in order to make work more effective
  • Proficient in Primavera P6
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.): Experience with Microsoft 365 a plus (OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint)

Qualifications of a Project Manager/Scheduler :

  • Construction Management, or Business related field
  • Minimum 3 year's previous experience as a Construction Scheduler (Utility Construction Preferred)
  • Can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience

Project Manager/Scheduler Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to maintain a consistent workload that involves long hours at a computer screen.
  • Office environment requiring sitting and standing. Traveling to various construction sites is essential, exposing employees to outdoor elements, noise, and the need to stand and walk.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6
  • Have demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, customers, vendors, and others
  • Comfortable with taking initiative to seek out information from project stakeholders and customers to ensure accurate representation of the schedule
  • Knowledge of electrical utility construction preferred
  • Able to read construction documents
