Senior Commercial Litigation Attorney (Bad Faith Focus)
A highly respected litigation firm is seeking a Senior Attorney with deep experience in commercial litigation, with a strong emphasis on insurance bad faith matters. This role is ideal for a seasoned litigator who brings first-chair trial experience and thrives in a high-performance environment with significant billable expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead complex commercial litigation cases from inception through trial and resolution
- Serve as first-chair trial counsel in high-exposure matters
- Handle sophisticated insurance bad faith claims, including coverage disputes and extra-contractual liability
- Draft and argue dispositive motions, manage discovery, and take/defend depositions
- Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Develop case strategy and provide high-level client counsel
- Mentor junior attorneys and collaborate with firm leadership on case execution
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of commercial litigation experience
- Proven first-chair trial experience in complex litigation matters
- Demonstrated experience handling insurance bad faith cases
- Active membership in the Washington State Bar (WSBA)
- Strong litigation skills, including motion practice, depositions, and trial leadership
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet elevated billable hour requirements
- Excellent writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
