 Insurance Defense Attorney (5+ Years) – Pittsburgh, PA

Location: Pittsburgh, PA (In-Office, 5 Days/Week)

Compensation: $120,000 – $135,000 (Based on experience)

Are you an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney who knows how to manage a heavy caseload, handle the pressure of litigation, and deliver results? If you are ready to hit the ground running and own your work from day one, this is the opportunity for you.

A busy, well-respected Pittsburgh litigation practice is seeking a seasoned attorney with 5+ years of experience to step into a high-volume, high-exposure caseload. You will work closely with firm leadership while handling meaningful matters for a diverse roster of public sector and corporate clients.

⚖️ Your Role & Responsibilities

In this position, you won't just be "reviewing" files—you will be driving them. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Case Management: End-to-end management of insurance defense matters.

  • Litigation Leadership: Taking the lead on motions, pleadings, and complex discovery.

  • Depositions: Conducting and defending depositions for key witnesses and experts.

  • Trial Prep: Driving trial preparation and assisting in both jury and non-jury trials.

  • Federal Practice: Managing a strong pipeline of federal court matters.

  • Client Representation: Defending school districts, municipalities, public officials, and government entities.

  • Diverse Practice: Handling related commercial litigation and dispute resolution (mediation/arbitration).

🎯 What You Bring to the Table

The ideal candidate is a proactive litigator with a "get it done" attitude and the following credentials:

  • Experience: 5+ years of dedicated insurance defense litigation experience.

  • Licensure: Active Pennsylvania bar license in good standing (Required).

  • Federal Expertise: Substantial, proven experience navigating federal court.

  • Subject Matter Knowledge: A strong background in Civil Rights/Section 1983 claims, EEOC matters, Governmental Liability, and General Liability.

  • Technical Skills: Proven ability to manage complex discovery, draft/argue dispositive motions, and prepare cases for trial.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional writing, research, and communication skills.
