Load Planner | Flatbed Division

Location: Warrenton, VA

Compensation: $60,000 – $75,000 (DOE) + Full Benefits

The Opportunity

Are you a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced transportation environment? A Growing Asset-Based Carrier is looking for an experienced Load Planner to join their team in Warrenton. This organization continues to expand its national footprint, servicing direct shippers across the U.S.

With a strong fleet and a dedicated flatbed division, they need a results-oriented professional who can confidently manage freight flow, maximize revenue, and keep the fleet moving profitably across OTR and regional lanes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimization: Plan, assign, and optimize freight for OTR and regional flatbed operations.
  • Fleet Management: Coordinate driver schedules to ensure on-time service and maximum equipment utilization.
  • Relationship Building: Communicate directly with customers to maintain and grow strong partnerships.
  • Negotiation: Secure spot market freight and negotiate competitive rates to drive profitability.
  • Strategy: Monitor load boards to identify high-value freight opportunities.
  • Compliance: Maintain real-time data within the TMS and ensure full compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: At least 3 years of truckload planning (flatbed experience is a huge plus).
  • Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in TMS platforms and various digital load boards.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to solve complex logistics puzzles under pressure.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
