About the Company:

Our client is a fast-growing national food manufacturing company dedicated to making great-tasting, nutritious food for K-12 school foodservice programs and major private-label retail brands. Operating in a stable, recession-proof sector, the company is experiencing strong national expansion.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an on-site Senior Accountant reporting directly to the VP of Finance. This position leads finance for the entity—owning the monthly close, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and cost/inventory accounting, while serving as a key financial presenter to company leadership and the owner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end accounting for the entity, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and trial balance reviews under GAAP.
• Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes.
• Perform cost accounting and inventory accounting for food manufacturing operations.
• Manage intercompany accounting and support external audit requests.
• Develop operational dashboards, Power BI reports, and plant KPIs to give leadership clear visibility into financial performance.
• Present financial results directly to executive leadership and answer ad-hoc financial questions for company ownership on demand.
• Drive continuous process improvements using ERP tools and financial automation.

Qualifications:

• Required: 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Required: Hands-on cost accounting experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Required: Proven presentation experience and strong spoken communication skills.
• Required: Ability to work on-site at the regional facility.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP, general ledger, and full-cycle close procedures.
• Experience with inventory accounting in food, beverage, or CPG manufacturing is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with modern ERP platforms (Microsoft Dynamics / Business Central preferred) and advanced Excel. Experience with Power BI or Power Query is a plus.
