The Opportunity

Are you a litigation associate who is tired of sitting in the second chair? We are representing a dynamic and growing Boise-based firm that is looking for a proactive, trial-ready Civil Litigation Attorney to take the lead.

This isn't a "back-office" research role. This position is specifically designed for an attorney who has the confidence and skill set to step into a primary role. You will be given the autonomy to manage your own files while receiving the strategic support and resources of an established firm. If you are looking for a clear path to trial experience and high-level advocacy, this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Case Management: Independently manage a diverse portfolio of civil litigation matters from the initial client intake through the final verdict or settlement.

  • Primary Advocacy: Serve as the lead representative for clients in court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.

  • Strategic Development: Architect and execute comprehensive case strategies, including the development of legal theories and trial themes.

  • Discovery & Motion Practice: Oversight and execution of all phases of discovery; drafting and arguing substantive motions, including MSJs and limine motions.

  • Depositions & Negotiations: Take and defend depositions of parties and expert witnesses; lead settlement negotiations with opposing counsel.

  • Client Stewardship: Maintain consistent, high-level communication with clients, ensuring they are informed and empowered throughout the litigation lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of increasing responsibility in the courtroom.

  • Bar Admission: Active member in good standing of the Idaho State Bar.

  • Trial Skills: Demonstrated experience in (or a clear aptitude for) trial work, including oral advocacy and witness examination.

  • Writing Excellence: Ability to draft sophisticated, persuasive legal documents that can stand up to rigorous scrutiny.

  • Professionalism: A high degree of emotional intelligence, organizational skill, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: Highly competitive base salary $100k-$135K (commensurate with experience).

  • Incentive Structure: Additional profit-sharing opportunities and performance-based bonuses that reward hard work and successful outcomes.

  • Growth Path: Direct mentorship from seasoned trial attorneys and a clear trajectory for professional advancement within the firm.

  • Support: Full paralegal and administrative support to allow you to focus on high-level legal strategy and advocacy.
