Traveling Project Manager – Structural Steel Erection

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Traveling Project Manager to oversee large-scale structural steel erection projects across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience managing major steel construction projects. Experience with complex builds such as data centers, stadiums, hotels, casinos, hospitals, car dealerships, or similar large commercial projects is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage steel erection projects from pre-construction through closeout

  • Coordinate daily activities with field crews, subcontractors, and jobsite leadership

  • Review drawings, erection plans, and construction documents

  • Maintain project schedules, budgets, and reporting

  • Ensure safety and quality standards are upheld across all project phases

  • Oversee sequencing, equipment planning, and erection methodology

  • Communicate regularly with clients, GCs, engineers, and internal teams

  • Travel to project sites nationwide as required

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years overseeing structural steel erection projects

  • Experience managing large-scale or complex steel builds
    (data centers, stadiums, hospitals, hotels, casinos, etc. preferred)

  • Strong understanding of steel erection means, methods, and field operations

  • Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, details, and connection plans

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently for extended periods
