Senior Estimator – Construction

A growing construction company is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead the estimating process for residential or commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate and competitive project estimates, analyzing project specifications, and supporting preconstruction strategy.

The ideal candidate is a highly analytical professional with strong knowledge of construction costs, subcontractor coordination, and bid preparation who can contribute to successful project planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects
• Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents
• Perform and review quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate bids with subcontractors and suppliers
• Develop project budgets and assist with preconstruction planning
• Collaborate with project managers, executives, and field teams
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality
• Maintain and update estimating databases and cost history records
• Assist with bid strategy and proposal preparation

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in construction estimating
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing
• Proven experience preparing large or complex construction estimates
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead estimating efforts and mentor junior estimators
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive compensation package, ranging $110,000 – $150,000 per year
