Project Manager / Estimator – Asphalt & Sitework

Position Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager / Estimator with experience in asphalt paving, earthwork, and overlays. This role is responsible for both estimating and managing projects from bid through completion, with a focus on accurate pricing, competitive bidding, and successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates and competitive bids for asphalt paving, earthwork, and overlay projects
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to ensure accurate scope and pricing
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Manage awarded projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Develop and track project budgets, schedules, and cost controls
- Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure successful execution
- Manage change orders, RFIs, and project documentation
- Monitor job costs, production, and profitability
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience estimating and bidding asphalt paving, earthwork, and overlay projects
- Experience managing projects post-award (preferred but not required)
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods for paving and sitework
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and bid packages
- Experience with estimating software (HCSS, Bid2Win, or similar preferred)
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids and projects simultaneously
