A highly respected and longstanding law firm located in the Northwest suburbs of Michigan is seeking an experienced Probate Litigation Attorney to join their accomplished team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with strong litigation experience in probate, trust disputes, and contested estate matters to further their career in a reputable and well-established practice.
Responsibilities:
- Handle a wide range of probate litigation matters, including contested wills, trust disputes, fiduciary misconduct, guardianship challenges, and complex estate conflicts.
- Manage cases from initial intake through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediations, and trials.
- Work directly with clients, beneficiaries, fiduciaries, and other involved parties to develop and execute strategic litigation approaches. Draft and review litigation documents, briefs, memoranda, and correspondence.
- Collaborate with firm partners and team members to ensure high-quality legal representation and efficient case management.
- Provide guidance to clients on probate processes, potential risks, and legal strategy.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Michigan (required).
- 5–10 years of experience in probate litigation, trust litigation, or related contested estate matters.
- Strong courtroom experience and familiarity with probate court procedures.
- Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage complex cases, communicate effectively with clients, and handle sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
