Estimator – Steel & Precast Erection
Overview:
A leading construction firm is seeking an experienced Estimator with a background in steel and/or precast erection. The ideal candidate will bring 5–15 years of estimating experience and a strong understanding of structural steel or precast construction projects. Compensation will be based on experience and seniority.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed estimates for steel and precast erection projects
Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to gather accurate pricing
Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs
Assist with value engineering and project planning
Participate in bid reviews and proposal preparation
Qualifications:
5–15 years of experience estimating steel or precast erection projects
Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing
Proficiency in reading structural drawings and erection plans
Solid communication and organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Work Schedule / Location:
Must live within the Chicago metro area
Flexible office schedule available
No remote work permitted
