Job Description

A well-established flour milling operation in Pennsylvania is seeking an experienced Miller to lead day-to-day operations and oversee a team This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone with deep knowledge of flour milling, a commitment to quality, and a focus on team development and workplace safety.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire flour milling process from grain conditioning to finished product

  • Manage and coach mill staff—scheduling shifts, assigning tasks, and providing training

  • Monitor production metrics including yield, extraction rates, and quality standards

  • Collaborate with QA to ensure compliance with food safety programs (CGMP, HACCP, HARPC, BRCGS)

  • Perform regular mill inspections, troubleshoot issues, and adjust equipment for optimal quality

  • Implement preventative maintenance with the Maintenance Team to minimize downtime

  • Maintain inventory of milling supplies, enrichment ingredients, and spare parts

  • Work closely with operations leadership to align the facility with future growth and production goals

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure OSHA compliance

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Degree in Milling Science or a related field is preferred; will consider applicants with a high school diploma/GED and the required # years of hands-on milling experience

  • 5–7+ years of flour milling experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role

  • Strong understanding of milling equipment and process optimization

  • Solid leadership skills with experience training and supervising a team

  • Knowledge of food safety standards and certifications

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English

  • Must be able to regularly lift 100 lbs and work in a physically active environment
