Job Description

GPAC is partnering with a cutting edge K-12 independent school in Fort Lauderdale that is seeking to add a Mathematics Teacher to its team for the 2025/2026 school year. This position will serve students in the middle school grades.   

The Math Teacher will guide students in developing conceptual understanding as well as application of these concepts to solve real world problems. Courses taught will include Pre-Algebra, Algebra and Geometry.

Essential Job Functions

  • Teach classes as assigned, providing effective and professional classroom instruction, assessment, and management.
  • Teach Pre-Algebra, Algebra and Geometry courses/content.
  • Provide individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
  • Design and implement curriculum and instruction consistent with the mission, values, and standards established with the program.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and on enhancing instructional practices and strategies.
  • Establish effective communications and relationships with students and parents.
  • Timely and professional completion of required reports and tasks (e.g., lesson plans, grades, correspondence with parents and students, examinations and quizzes, attendance, etc.).
  • Administer and develop Math specific assessments for the purpose of assessing student competency levels and/or developing individual learning plans.
  • Exhibit a growth mindset about teaching practices and work toward professional goals and development.
  • Develop and maintain professional, collaborative, and collegial relationships with faculty and staff, as well as with community partners to the benefit of students and classes.
  • Participate in in-service workshops, meetings, sessions, and all other defined activities, as well as other areas of school life.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education is required
  • Minimum 5 years experience teaching, preferably in an private/independent school environment
