Position Overview
The PLC Engineer is responsible for developing, testing, and programming electronic control systems specifically for mission-critical spaces using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
Key Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to discuss their mechanical or electrical automation needs.
- Develop PLC programs to control HVAC equipment maintaining critical spaces
- Provide customer requested changes and updates to existing databases.
- Provide technical input as needed in customer-facing meetings.
- Provide customer and field teams technical support of systems during start-up and commissioning on projects, as needed.
- Provide information and support for other contractors and vendors as projects required.
- Debug installation issues during both the static and dynamic start up and commissioning of building controls and special systems.
- Troubleshoot system errors.
- Document programming development processes for projects.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience as a PLC Programmer
- 2+ years experience minimum with Studio 5000 Software
- Experience programming complex chiller and/or boiler systems (Central Plants)
- Experience programming redundant PLC controller managers
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Capable of identifying tasks and working independently to manage responsibilities without requiring constant oversight.
- Bachelors degree in software, mechanical, or electrical engineering a plus.
- Ignition Software experience a plus
