Position Overview

The PLC Engineer is responsible for developing, testing, and programming electronic control systems specifically for mission-critical spaces using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to discuss their mechanical or electrical automation needs.
  • Develop PLC programs to control HVAC equipment maintaining critical spaces
  • Provide customer requested changes and updates to existing databases.
  • Provide technical input as needed in customer-facing meetings.
  • Provide customer and field teams technical support of systems during start-up and commissioning on projects, as needed.
  • Provide information and support for other contractors and vendors as projects required.
  • Debug installation issues during both the static and dynamic start up and commissioning of building controls and special systems.
  • Troubleshoot system errors.
  • Document programming development processes for projects.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience as a PLC Programmer
  • 2+ years experience minimum with Studio 5000 Software
  • Experience programming complex chiller and/or boiler systems (Central Plants)
  • Experience programming redundant PLC controller managers
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Capable of identifying tasks and working independently to manage responsibilities without requiring constant oversight.
  • Bachelors degree in software, mechanical, or electrical engineering a plus.
  • Ignition Software experience a plus
