Job Description

A well-established firm in Virginia is seeking an attorney with 2–5 years of experience in liability defense, insurance defense, or general civil litigation to join its growing litigation team.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse caseload involving premises liability, general liability, and other civil defense matters. Attorneys in this position will have meaningful responsibility, including managing cases, developing litigation strategy, and working directly with clients and insurance carriers.

Responsibilities

• Defend civil litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Handle cases involving liability defense, insurance defense, and general civil litigation
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery; conduct depositions and manage case strategy
• Evaluate liability exposure and assist in developing defense strategies
• Collaborate with clients, carriers, and opposing counsel to resolve claims efficiently

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Virginia State Bar
• 2–5 years of experience in civil litigation, with exposure to liability and/or insurance defense preferred
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines
