🏡 Purchasing Manager – Residential Homebuilder

Are you an experienced Purchasing Manager with a strong background in residential homebuilding? We're seeking a detail-oriented, driven individual to lead and optimize purchasing operations for high-quality single-family homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all purchasing activities from pre-construction through project completion

  • Source, negotiate, and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers

  • Analyze takeoffs and estimates to ensure accuracy and budget alignment

  • Collaborate with estimators, project managers, and field teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials

  • Track market trends, pricing, and availability to maintain competitive advantage

  • Maintain budgets, purchase orders, and procurement documentation

  • Evaluate vendor performance, ensuring compliance with cost, quality, and schedule expectations

  • Improve internal purchasing processes and contribute to strategic planning

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of purchasing experience in residential homebuilding

  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, trades, and residential building processes

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and purchasing/estimating software (e.g., Buildertrend, CoConstruct, SupplyPro, etc.)

  • Excellent negotiation and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in both custom and production homebuilding

  • Familiarity with plan reading and estimating

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field (a plus, not required)
