Job Title: Project Manager – Structural Steel Construction/Erection

Job Summary:
The Structural Steel Construction/Erection Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of steel erection and construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have 2-6 years of experience managing steel erection projects as a Project Manager or Project Engineer, bringing technical expertise and leadership to coordinate teams, subcontractors, and clients effectively. Experience with Tekla is a plus, enhancing project coordination and detailing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and manage all phases of structural steel construction and erection projects from start to finish.
  • Coordinate with engineers, fabricators, and field crews to ensure accurate execution of project specifications.
  • Develop and monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to meet deadlines and financial goals.
  • Oversee on-site steel erection activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and providing regular project updates.
  • Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services specific to steel erection.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues that arise during construction or erection phases.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to guide project execution.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and cost tracking.

Qualifications:

  • 2-6 years of experience managing structural steel erection projects as a Project Manager or Project Engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of steel construction and erection processes, techniques, and industry standards (e.g., AISC).
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage subcontractors, and collaborate with stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and Microsoft Office.
  • Tekla experience is a plus, particularly for reviewing models and coordinating fabrication details.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills to handle complex, multi-phase projects.
