Job Title: Estimator – Sitework, Excavation & Demolition
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a background in sitework, excavation, and demolition to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in estimating projects within these sectors and have hands-on experience using HCSS Heavy Bid software. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for excavation, sitework, and demolition projects, from project inception through to the final bid submission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for sitework, excavation, and demolition projects.
- Utilize HCSS Heavy Bid software to create, update, and track bid proposals.
- Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure comprehensive and accurate estimates.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate bids.
- Analyze project scope and prepare material, labor, and equipment take-offs.
- Identify and assess potential risks, challenges, and cost-saving opportunities in each project.
- Ensure estimates align with company standards and profitability goals.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure the transition from bid to project execution is seamless.
- Assist in the preparation of change orders and modifications during the course of a project.
- Monitor industry trends and provide insight into competitive pricing and market conditions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating sitework, excavation, and demolition projects.
- Proven experience with HCSS Heavy Bid software.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and labor costs associated with sitework, excavation, and demolition.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- High attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
