Field Service Technician – Press Brake Specialist

Elgin, IL | Full-Time | National Travel

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician with strong experience servicing CNC press brake equipment.

This role focuses on installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining advanced machinery at customer sites.

What You’ll Do

• Report to the local facility and travel to customer sites for service work
• Install, service, and repair:

• Press Brakes (primary focus)
• Fiber Lasers (20–30%)
• Shears (minimal)

• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with a strong emphasis on:

• Electrical systems (70%)
• Mechanical systems (30%)

• Identify root causes and implement solutions in the field
• Perform machine prove-out and testing prior to installation
• Support setup, calibration, and commissioning at customer sites
• Train customers on machine operation and basic troubleshooting
• Document service work and maintain clear communication with customers
• When not on service calls, work in-house preparing machines for install

 Requirements

• 3+ years press brake experience (required)
• Strong troubleshooting ability (hydraulic + electrical)
• Ability to read schematics
• Self-driven and customer-focused

 Nice to Have

• PLC troubleshooting
• Delem or similar CNC controls
• Sheet metal fabrication background
