Associate Lawyer (Employment Law) – Chilliwack, B.C.

A well-established labour and employment law firm in the Fraser Valley is seeking a talented Associate Lawyer to join its growing team in Chilliwack, British Columbia. The firm is recognized for its depth of expertise, client-focused approach, and longstanding reputation as a trusted advisor to employers and employees throughout the region.


Position Overview

This is a full-time opportunity for a lawyer with 3–5 years of employment law and civil litigation experience. The successful candidate will join a supportive, close-knit team and play an active role in representing clients before the B.C. Supreme Court, Provincial Court, and the B.C. Human Rights Tribunal.

The role is best suited for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, demonstrates strong analytical and communication skills, and is committed to providing exceptional client service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage employment law and related civil litigation matters from intake through resolution

  • Conduct legal research, prepare pleadings, and draft correspondence and legal memoranda

  • Appear before courts and administrative tribunals, including the B.C. Human Rights Tribunal

  • Advise clients on a broad range of employment issues including wrongful dismissal, workplace policies, and human rights matters

  • Participate in negotiations, mediations, and settlement discussions

  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex cases while maintaining a high degree of autonomy


Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent from an accredited law school

  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia

  • 3–5 years of experience practicing in employment law and/or civil litigation

  • Demonstrated advocacy experience before courts or tribunals

  • Exceptional legal drafting, research, and analytical skills

  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal abilities

  • Proficiency with legal research tools and technology

  • Ability to balance independent work with team collaboration
