GPAC is partnering with an community-centered, mission-driven nonprofit organization to identify their next Registered Nurse in Winona, MN.

The organization is seeking candidates skilled in providing medication management and quality care/guidance for adults with mental health needs in a transitional residential setting.

The Registered Nurse position in Winona, MN, is a vital role within a community-centered, mission-driven nonprofit organization. The nurse will provide intake and screening services for clients of all ages, focusing on mental health needs. This position involves medication management, client education, and collaboration with psychiatrists to ensure effective treatment and care for clients. The role offers the opportunity to make a real difference for young adults in our community seeking to become more self-sufficient and get their life back on track.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input to psychiatrist prior to client appointments and consult after appointments.
  • Conduct weekly medication education groups and provide individual consultations as needed.
  • Ensure all staff receive necessary medication training and conduct trainings on new medications.
  • Fill medication minders and ensure clients have the appropriate quantity of medications.
  • Conduct medication reconciliation and handle documentation related to client medication refusals.
  • Dispense medications during duty hours and conduct client physicals upon intake.
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and trainings, documenting therapeutic encounters and client progress.
  • Participate as a member of the treatment team and assist in developing house policies.

Requirements

  • Must be a Registered Nurse with licensure in good standing in Minnesota.
  • Previous experience working with persons with mental illness is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and patiently with adults with mental illness.
  • Extensive knowledge of psychotropic medications or willingness to learn.
