We are seeking a Workers’ Compensation Attorney to join our Chicago office. Our attorneys don’t just process claims. We take ownership of cases, push back against denials and delays, and fight to secure the full benefits our clients. You will represent injured workers in all phases of their claims, from initial filing through resolution before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission.
You will handle a wide range of claims, including:
- Construction and industrial accidents
- Repetitive stress and occupational injuries
- Warehouse, transportation, and healthcare worker claims
- Catastrophic injury and permanent disability cases
- Third-party liability claims arising from workplace incidents
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of workers’ compensation matters from intake through settlement or hearing
- File and litigate claims before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission
- Handle disputed claims, including denials, delays, and underpayment of benefits
- Take depositions of claimants, medical providers, and expert witnesses
- Develop medical evidence and disability evaluations
- Negotiate settlements with employers and insurance carriers
- Identify and pursue third-party claims where applicable
- Maintain consistent communication with clients throughout the lifecycle of their case
Ideal background / Qualifications:
- Illinois Bar admission required
- 2+ years of workers’ compensation or related litigation experience
- Understanding of Illinois workers’ compensation system, including TTD, PPD, PTD, and wage differential benefits
- Experience handling disputed claims and navigating hearings/appeals
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail
- Confident negotiator with the ability to push cases toward favorable resolution
- Strong client communication and advocacy skills
