Commercial Litigation Associate (5–10 Years Call)

A leading global law firm is seeking an experienced litigation associate (5–10 years call) to join its Edmonton office.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing litigation team handling a complex and diverse mix of disputes work. The successful candidate will work on sophisticated matters across multiple industries while benefiting from a globally integrated platform.

Practice Focus

• General commercial litigation
• International arbitration
• Fraud and asset recovery
• Construction, projects, and environmental litigation

Key Responsibilities

• Manage litigation files independently with minimal supervision
• Draft pleadings, briefs, and other litigation materials
• Navigate Alberta court processes, filings, and procedures
• Develop case strategy and progress files efficiently
• Represent clients in mediations, discoveries, and court proceedings
• Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic legal advice

Ideal Candidate

• 5–10 years of commercial litigation experience
• Strong familiarity with Alberta court rules and procedures
• Proven ability to manage files independently and meet deadlines
• Excellent advocacy, drafting, and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and written communication
• Experience working with sophisticated clients across industries is an asset
• Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta
