Field Foreman – Structural Steel Erection
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Field Foreman to lead structural steel erection projects, including both heavy structural steel and miscellaneous metals installation. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing field crews on local jobs with little to no overnight travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead field crews on structural steel erection and misc. metals installation
- Coordinate daily activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule
- Interpret erection drawings, shop drawings, and project specifications
- Plan and sequence steel erection, rigging, and installation activities
- Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and other trades on-site
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, including fall protection and rigging practices
- Monitor productivity, quality, and workmanship of crews
- Coordinate equipment, cranes, and material deliveries
- Troubleshoot field issues and provide solutions in real time
- Maintain daily reports and communicate project updates
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in structural steel erection, with leadership/foreman experience preferred
- Strong background in both heavy structural steel and miscellaneous metals (stairs, railings, platforms, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret structural and shop drawings
- Knowledge of rigging, crane picks, and erection sequencing
- OSHA 30 preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proven commitment to safety and quality
