Insurance Defense Attorney (Third-Party Defense): Hands-On Litigation with a Respected Tampa Defense Firm

Our client, a well-established civil defense firm, is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney with a focus on third-party defense to join its growing Tampa practice. This is an in-office position with flexibility.

This is a great opportunity for an attorney who enjoys hands-on litigation, direct client contact, and managing matters from inception through resolution.

What You'll Do

• Defend insureds, businesses, and other clients in third-party liability matters
• Handle matters involving general liability, bodily injury, premises liability, automobile liability, and other complex civil claims
• Manage cases from inception through settlement, mediation, arbitration, and trial
• Draft pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, and other substantive filings
• Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and experts
• Attend hearings, mediations, and court proceedings
• Evaluate liability, damages, and exposure, and develop case strategy
• Communicate directly with insurance carriers, claims professionals, and clients
• Participate in trial preparation and trial

What We're Looking For

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Member of The Florida Bar in good standing
• 3+ years of civil litigation / insurance defense experience
• Third-party liability defense experience is required
• Strong deposition, motion practice, and case management experience
• Excellent research, writing, negotiation, and communication skills
• Ability to independently manage a caseload
