Family Lawyer (3+ Years Call)

A well-established Calgary-based law firm is seeking a family lawyer (3+ years call) to join its growing practice.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collegial and supportive team handling a broad range of family law matters, including contested litigation. The role offers strong autonomy, meaningful client interaction, and consistent file responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of family law matters
• Represent clients in contested proceedings and court appearances
• Draft pleadings, agreements, and court materials
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
• Provide practical, client-focused legal advice
• Collaborate with team members while maintaining independent file carriage

Qualifications

• Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta (or eligible for immediate admission)
• Minimum of 3 years’ post-call experience in family law
• Demonstrated courtroom advocacy experience and comfort with litigation
• Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage files independently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills
• Professional, team-oriented, and solutions-focused approach
