A well-established Calgary-based law firm is seeking an experienced litigator (5+ years call) to join its estate litigation practice.


The Opportunity

This is a strong opportunity to join a collegial and respected team handling a range of estate litigation matters, including contested disputes. The role offers meaningful courtroom exposure, autonomy over files, and the ability to work within a supportive team environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage estate litigation files from inception through resolution
  • Represent clients in contested proceedings and court appearances
  • Draft pleadings, applications, and other litigation materials
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
  • Provide strategic, client-focused legal advice
  • Collaborate with colleagues while maintaining independent file carriage

Qualifications

  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta (or eligible for immediate admission)
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ post-call experience in estate litigation
  • Demonstrated courtroom advocacy experience and comfort with contested matters
  • Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to independently manage files in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills
  • Professional, team-oriented, and solutions-focused approach
