Experience: 2–5 years of private-practice litigation experience
Billable Hours: 1,600 annually
Bar: Active Pennsylvania Bar License Required

About the Opportunity

A sophisticated downtown Pittsburgh law firm is seeking a Pennsylvania-licensed Civil Litigation Associate Attorney with 2–5 years of private-practice experience.

This is an opportunity for an attorney who wants meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, courtroom experience, and the opportunity to build and grow their own practice within a collaborative and supportive firm environment.

Practice Areas

The attorney may handle matters involving:

  • Defamation
  • Privacy Torts
  • Pet Law
  • Neighbor Disputes
  • Federal, State & Local Tax Collection Defense
  • Landlord/Tenant Disputes
  • Contract Disputes
  • Construction Disputes
  • Personal Injury Litigation
  • Medical Malpractice Litigation

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload from intake through resolution
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients
  • Develop and execute case strategies
  • Conduct legal research and analysis
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Represent clients in court proceedings
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts
  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff
  • Participate in networking and business-development opportunities
  • Take an active role in the firm's training and professional-development program

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of private-practice litigation experience
  • Active Pennsylvania Bar License required
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Westlaw
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and case-management abilities
  • Courtroom experience preferred
  • Tenacious, practical, and solutions-focused approach
  • Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork
